ESPEN SANDBERG

Espen Sandberg is an Oscar-nominated director behind some of the biggest film hits in Norway.

He grew up in Sandefjord, and is well known for his work with childhood friend and director Joachim Rønning on such films as Bandidas (2006), Max Manus: Man of War (2008), Kon-Tiki (2012) and Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales (2017).

He received a nomination at 85th Academy Awards as well as 70th Golden Globe Awards for Best Foreign Language Film for directing the 2012 film Kon-Tiki.

Espen’s extensive and award-winning commercial work in Scandinavia has led to major international commissions such as spots for Airbus, Nintendo, Coca-Cola, GE and Nokia. Sandberg established himself in the North American market with his spots for Capital One, Labatt’s, and especially with the USA Today Super Bowl 2001 Viewer’s Poll-winning spot Rex for Budweiser.
